The 360 Trust was set up by Suzanne Spooner and Helen Harrison out of a shared vision to create a vehicle that helps provide opportunities for under-privileged young (and young-at-heart) people from the UK to get out of their regular environment and routine and take part in a short-term service style trip abroad.
The focus is to give the participants the opportunity to do something totally different, in a new environment; and in so doing have the opportunity to take a look around themselves in many new directions (ie a 360 degree look around – hence the name) and maybe even decide to take a different direction in life.

I’m Welsh, I’m tall, I like a good laugh & I love food – that’s the really important things about me! Apart from that I’m a social worker & have worked with children & families (mainly children in the care system) for the last 14 years, in children’s homes, as a social worker and as a mental health worker for looked after children. I’m really interested in what things help us to build up our resilience & cope with some of the rubbish that life can throw at us. I’ve done lots of voluntary work in different countries & recognise that it’s had a massively positive impact on me (& hopefully the people I was working with!) & has taught me loads about myself & developed skills I didn’t know I had. |

I’m not Welsh, and not so tall, but I also like to have a good time, and love vegetarian food, as well as going for a run or a swim first thing in the morning! For the past few years I have been self-employed, working with a number of international agencies putting together trips for small and medium-size teams to a number of different countries. These have enabled participants to do various pieces of voluntary work in very different environments and cultures from life at home. I have led a lot of the trips and seen how they can have amazing and positively life-changing effects on both the participants and the recipients. It is that aspect that really excites me, and that I am delighted to bring into the 360 Trust trips. |
